Things to know as a new Young Living Member!
Being the new kid on the block can be scary sometimes am I right?!
So much to learn, experience, and new people to meet!
Oh yes, I understand. So to help you out I wanted to give you a place to start as you begin this new and exciting journey!
Please note (as with everything we discuss with you) we are only talking about YOUNG LIVING Essential Oils. We are not referencing any other brand on the market, as not all oils can be used the same way.

#1 Knowledge is Power! If you have not yet been to a 101 Class on how to use Essential Oils safely, get to one! If you don't know where to start, ask the Oily Visions Team Member that you enrolled with! If they are not sure, please send me a message or an email! While an online class can not possibly have the same effect as an in person class, I do have an online version set up for you.

- You are also part of The Oilistic Life, and LimeThyme. Join these networks and connect with people to learn and grow! These are people who want you to succeed at the oily life! #2 Compliance. You might have heard this word already, but if not, it is an important word! When you become a member with Young Living (meaning you have your own member number) you are required to speak compliantly about Young Living, and Young Living Products.

- This includes public posting! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Don't be Telling Sally who sold sea shells at the seashore how to fix her sinus infection that she developed from to much salty air! WE DONT DO THAT HERE! K?!
- Pinterest - Do not repin or share post that uses non complaint language either! We do not want to share information that could be taken out of context or misunderstood. And when you pin it for the world to see it's like saying, "Hey this is great stuff" and well it's not! We support systems, not treat symptoms! If there is something you see that you just must have, please save it to your private phone, or a private computer file. Do not save this via public social media means!

#3 Amazon Scams. A day in the life of 2016, am I right? Scams everywhere you turn your head. And there are people on Ebay and Amazon running some of them in the name of YL. However, it is NOT Young Living selling on these site. While they are attempting to be proactive in getting these people shut down, they continue to pop right back up.
A lot of times what will happen is they will take a YL bottle and either A) empty half and refill half with a carrier oil, giving you a pre-diluted product and ripping you off of 1/2 your purchase, or B) just completely refill the bottle with garbage oils giving you nothing close to YL goodness.

#4 What is Seed to Seal? Seed to Seal is Young Living's guarantee that you will have pure, unadulterated essential oils every time! You must check out the SEED TO SEAL website if you haven't yet. As mentioned YL is the only company that owns their own farms. Our oils come from earth, not from a lab! Our founder Gary Young is a Farmer. He takes purity and pride to a whole new level. Many times you will see a product go Out of Stock. This is because Young Living cares about their purity standards and their commitment to unadulterated essential oils. They could mass produce, but they refuse to. They can only produce what their farms can grow! And I appreciate their standards. So when you see an item is Out of Stock, remember to be thankful and appreciative of their standards!
#5 Being aware of mainstream "Pure Oils" - The essential oil market is HOT right now, and everyone is wanting to tap in to get their hands in the pot too! Do not be fooled by imitation oils! From Bed Bath and Beyond, to Walmart, to grocery stores, and everywhere in between, DO YOUR RESEARCH! And I hope in your research you do some on Young Living as well! We are the ONLY essential oil company that owns their own farms, and the man in charge is the Farmer himself. Not some big fancy CEO who sits behind a desk. But someone who understands them! In the world of rules and regulations, "Pure" does not have to mean pure. Many test have been done on these fake oils only to find chemicals and toxins inside. And who wants to rub that all over their skin, or have in their body?! That's why we want these oils right?! To live a little more naturally! KNOW the difference, and their schemes please!! Be prepared to watch more and more companies try to replicate oils!
#6 Wholesale Membership VS Retail Membership: When you enroll with Young Living you have two options. Wholesale and Retail. Retail is if you want to pay retail prices for your oils. But really... who wants to do that?! Wholesale is the way you want to go. This ensures you pay the whole sale price giving you about a 24% discount! The misconception here is that you have to sell the oils, or order every month if you do this. That is NOT true! Actually only 2% of YL members, have decided to do the business side. Think of this as you would a Sam's or Costco Membership! You are just signing up to save! WHOOHOO!
If you accidentally signed up with a retail account because you didn't understand what that ment, no worries, we can have your account switched to Wholesale member at any time, so before you place your next order be sure to call YL Member Services to let them know you want to change your account type, or let your Sponsor or Enroller know, and they can guide you through the process! :)
PS... at the moment Young Living does require your SS# when having a wholesale account. This is so if you ever qualify for any monetary thank you gifts, they can send you that check. And the IRS requires they have a SS# on file to do that.

#7 Safety! We are talking about Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils! There are safety precautions you must know. Again I advise you to check out that 101 CLASS that I posted earlier, but a few things I want you to know now are:
- Citrus oils and plastic do not go together! Use with glass or stainless steel only.
- Your starter kit includes a few "hot oils" - use a carrier if necessary.
- A little goes a long way! One drop will most times do it. Start slow when you begin and learn what your body likes.
- Do not "wash off" your oils with water! Water and oils do not mix and will irritate the situation. If you are trying to "remove" an oil use a carrier oil, such as coconut, grapeseed, or whatever you may be using.
- This is NOT a comprehensive list. PLEASE continue to learn and educate yourself about essential oils! And join our groups so we can help you with it! (and do a 101!)
#8 What are Vitality Oils? Your vitality oils are the ones that were labeled for Dietary use. While the 2 bottles of Peppermint for example contain the exact same contents, they are labeled for ease of use. Dietary label for internal usage, regular label for topical and aromatic usage. Again, same contents in both bottles. Labeled for FDA compliance.
#9 What if I want to look at the income opportunity through Young Living? This is a great decision, and we would love to support you and assist you on that journey as well. And because we are discussing the opportunity, I'm required to also share the income disclosure statement that you can find HERE.
Please contact your Sponsor/Enroller and let them know! If they are not actively pursuing the business end themselves, please contact me! There are so many resources available to you, that I would love to share with you. Make sure you are also connected in the private groups I mentioned above. Our leaders also offer training occasionally to those of use who would like it.
